The Knew is a rock 'n' roll band from Denver that has always seemed out of place, but in a good way. Although it is unclear what indie rock means, it is clear The Knew doesn’t make indie rock music. Their own version of rock 'n' roll is one of blistering hopefulness that explodes in positive, energetic odes to love and hate, life and death—ultimately landing on a final note of enduring optimism and fun. Their debut full-length, "Pulpería," is loaded with youthful excitement that inspires listeners to not feel any guilt in pleasure. Live, you can expect the musical equivalent of a trunk full of illegal fireworks.
Above all else, The Knew wants you to smile and laugh, but is satisfied if you frown and cry—as long as you are eating at the same time.
