The Epilogues have been a fixture in the Denver music scene for the last few years. While always striving to create something different and exciting, their combination of dark undertones with infectious dance hooks, as well as their nonstop, energetic live show, has captured audiences, both locally and nationally.

The Epilogues began as most bands do, when two longtime friends, Chris Heckman and Nathaniel Hammond set out to create something that they hoped people would want to hear, writing songs based on a variety of influences and personal experiences. The band began turning out song after song, and the rapidly growing Denver music scene took notice. In fact, the foursome had developed a loyal following in their hometown long before they had even released a single album.

July of 2008 marked the release of their first EP, entitled “The Beautiful, The Terrifying.” As Heckman describes it, “we were hoping to create something that was familiar enough that people could identify with, but also push those boundaries and be original enough where you weren’t always going to know where we were going next”. TBTT became an instant hit in the Denver music scene, but it was the onstage chemistry that the band had developed with each other, as well as their fans, that really got people buzzing.

The national music scene began to take notice in 2009, when The Epilogues played an array of sold out shows supporting national acts like The Sounds, All American Rejects, Saosin, The Spill Canvas, and Innerpartysystem. This kind of spotlight helped launch the band, as they began selling out they’re own headlining shows. In addition, The Epilogues not only played in almost every major music festival in Colorado in 2009, but they also took home nearly every music award that Denver has to offer.

In October of 2009, The Epilogues released a split EP with fellow Denver band, The Photo Atlas, entitled, “The Friendship EP.” Their first single from the split, “Hunting Season,” was voted as the No. 1 song on Denver modern rock station 93.3/KTCL’s famous “Hometown for the Holidays” contest. In doing so, they joined an elite list of winners from years past, which include The Fray, The Flobots, Meese, and Single File. The Epilogues are already in the writing process for their third album, which they expect to release in late 2010. It’s safe to say that The Epilogues have become one of the most heralded acts in the centennial state. Additionally, they have already developed admirable and loyal fan bases across the country and are thriving in such massive music markets as Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City. It’s safe to say that the road ahead appears to be paved with success for this Denver band.
